The hearX Group has won South African Startup of the Year at the 2023 Southern African Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (SAVCA) Awards.
Held in Sandton on 9 May, the annual SAVCA Industry Awards recognise portfolio companies that have thrived from private equity and venture capital investment in the region and the value these asset classes provide, including mentorship, market access, business development, and guidance around corporate governance.
The hearX Group was shortlisted in the startups/ venture capital category alongside EMGuidance, Lipa Payments, and Pineapple. The accolade follows the company's recognition as a TIME100 Most Influential Company last year.
HAVAÍC first invested in the hearX Group in 2019 and have since been privileged to partner with them on a remarkable and rewarding journey of growth with impact. In 2022, hearX launched its Lexie Hearing Aid over the counter across the United States.
Under the leadership of CEO Nic Klopper and COO Seline van der Wat, the hearX Group is a shining example of how African-born innovation can solve real-world problems on the global stage.
