HAVAÍC is a leading Cape Town-based Venture Capital (VC) firm that invests in and supports early-stage, high-growth, and impactful South African and African technology businesses with global potential.
We are growing our portfolio and funds under management substantially and are seeking a dynamic, high-performing self-starter to support the investment team. The role is to take a junior analyst position within the investment team in order to meet the demand from target
companies we are looking to invest into, and to support the existing portfolio.
The preferred candidate should have the following:
A minimum of an undergraduate degree (finance related), CA, CFA, and Honours degree, or other relevant accreditation would be beneficial but not required;
At least one year of relevant working experience in the financial or related sectors. Preference is given to candidates with non-listed equity valuation and financial modelling experience;
High proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook with strong verbal and written communication skills;
The role will include (but not limited to):
Conducting financial due diligence focused around:
Financial modelling and analysis;
Company and industry analysis;
Preparing investment papers and reports;
Advanced presentation and reporting through spreadsheets and documents
Portfolio performance monitoring
Collection and interpretation of key performance metrics
Travel and events
National and regional travel and attending industry-related events
Assisting with aspects relating to executing, managing, and reporting on investments, with direct exposure to the business partners, the investment process, the deal team, and underlying portfolio investments.
Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter, collaborative and high-performing team player, and desire to join a Venture Capital (VC) firm that is quickly growing and making a positive impact in the African VC ecosystem;
Remuneration package will be aligned to the candidate and may include performance and equity targets;
Cape Town (HQ) based (while flexibility and work-life balance are encouraged, this role is not for candidates seeking to work remotely).
